Cubs clinchers: 2007
September 28, 2007 was a different from all of the other Cubs clinchers.
In Lou Piniella’s first season with the Cubs, the magic number was 2. The Cubs beat the Reds 6-0 in Cincinnati. Then they sat around and waited for the results from Milwaukee. In Milwaukee former Cub Greg Maddux was pitching for Padres. The Padres were down early 2-0. They rallied and won 6-3 and the celebration was on for the Cubs and their fans in the Queen City and around the country.

Lineups

Watched this at Mullen’s. First time seeing a clincher in Wrigleyville.
That was fun…for an odd up and down team.
