Apparently Kosuke Fukudome struggles this season weren’t all his fault. Buried today in Paul Sullivan’s article was that the fact that the Cubs fired Fukudome’s interpreter:
Hendry already has made three moves this off-season—picking up Rich Harden’s $7 million option, declining Henry Blanco’s $3 million option Friday and firing Fukudome’s interpreter, Ryuji Araki. Hendry wants to find an interpreter who gels better with the Japanese outfielder.
I guess it was the interpreters fault that the Cubs outfielder couldn’t hit the second half of the season.
